Whether it’s writing about local urban culture with CopyWrite Magazine, hosting the hottest podcast in the city (The Intersection) or making your favorite goods at her candle company, Tizwax; she’s a seasoned balancing act. Her comedic energy and enthusiastic personality is hard to match, which makes her one of best “gems” in the city and in this market.

TIzwax was born in 2020 when the world grew quiet and we had some time to ourselves as humans. I was looking for a new hobby, to distract me from the greek tragedy that the pandemic was. I needed something that would be both useful and relaxing but also simple enough in theory that I can stop at any time and keep the skill. In the midst of my brainstorming, I noticed my BB*W was yet again, at the end of its shelf life—so soon. Why do these things burn so fast? I remember asking myself as I blew out yet another one of my favorite champagne scented favs. Then it dawned on me. They want us to come back faster so they use a faster burner wax… ahhh. I can make a better candle than this…or can I? Ouuuu…
